Bobux the Bear
The company's distinctive logo
and mascot, "Bobux" the bear is based on the Pukanini
Bears that became extinct in New Zealand around the 1900's. These
bears were easily recognized by the shape of their funny ears and
looked similar to the Australian Koala bear to which they were related.

They were very trusting, loveable
and thrived on human contact. The bears were however extremely
sensitive to their environment and eventually disease and climatic
changes sadly lead to their extinction.
Scientists recently discovered
and unearthed frozen samples of DNA from permafrost in areas once
inhabited by the Pukanini Bears. It is believed, in the future,
advances in biotechnology will enable scientists to genetically
engineer the DNA in a bid to revive the species. Proposals also
include establishing sanctuaries in designated areas that would
ensure the Pukanini bears long-term survival.
